Event description:
Projekce jednoho z klenotů české kinematografie Démanty noci podle scénáře Jana Němce a Arnošta Lustiga v režii Jana Němce (1964). Film byl digitálně zrestaurován v roce 2018 Národním filmovým archivem a uveden na Mezinárodním Filmovém festivalu ve francouzském Cannes v roce 2018 v sekci Classics spolu s filmy jako například slavný 2001: A Space Odyssey (rež. Stanley Kubrick, 1968).
V GASKU proběhne o zrestauroveném snímku debata s renomovaným filmařem a Josefem Lustigem či Evou Lustigovou.

What comes to mind when you hear the name Arnošt Lustig?
Perhaps not much, perhaps nothing , and that would be a shame. FestivAL100, an international celebration of humanity, is being created to mark the 100th anniversary of Arnošt Lustig’s birth. The program conveys a message about the power of humanity as reflected in his work.
At the same time, it emphasizes inalienable human rights, without which “man is just an animal that speaks human language.”
